Hey everyone!
So the bookcase project has been put on hold because I am on an adventure. For 10 days. Ten. Without my kids. Well, I substituted my young kids for about 30 college-aged students, who call me their Tour Mom. Something you may not know about my husband, is that he is an Adjunct Music Professor for Calvary University, and runs their Chorale. Every Spring Break the Chorale embarks on a ten-day tour, for the purpose of recruitment. I went on one tour prior to this and it was to Texas. This year, we are in Colorado, Utah (Salt Lake Area), and Wyoming.
These tours are a much-needed break for this momma. I love my life, and my calling from the Lord to be a stay-at-home mother and wife. But these short breaks are needed so I can continue to be the best mom and wife I can be. I have realized that sometimes you just need to get out of dodge…This was a last minute decision for me because we weren’t sure our youngest would be able to handle ten days away from Mommy and Daddy. But after much debate, discussion, and prayers it came down to my sanity and what I really needed at this time in my life. We are so thankful to our family for taking the kids over the next ten days so we can go on this adventure, to be Tour Mom and Dad for these students.
We are only on our second day and already have had some really fun times exploring and meeting new acquaintances. We toured a Catholic church in Victoria, KS yesterday and spent some time at Garden of the Gods in Colorado today. The weather has been perfect.
If you think about it, please pray for our safety as we are travelling over the Rocky Mountains tomorrow. I will attempt to get back on and keep you all updated with the trip and how it’s going. I won’t be able to put a ton of pictures into these posts until we get back home…but if you want to see our travels, come visit my Instagram The Shelved Life Blog ! I’d love for you to travel along with us!
